How to use the log viewer

Overview


Rolling live log data can be viewed through the Dx Service Log Window. The logging is organized by machine and then further filtered down by Expression, Info, Polling and Email.


Due to Application Security, You will need the correct permissions to access the logs.



While connected to the Dx Service, it is possible to view the logging for All machines, a plant, a group, or just one specific machine.


  1. Navigate to DataXchange --> Select Equipment, Equipment Group or Plant.



  1. Navigate to DX Logging --> Select the Start Dropdown



  1. Select which filter you would like to use --> DX Service Log window will open






  1. Selecting Pause will temporarily stop updates, but logging will continue in the background. This cache is capped at 2000 lines.




  1. Selecting Resume will cause the cached logged items to appear.



  1. Selecting Clear will clear the log window and cache. Logging to file will continue.



  1. Selecting Copy to clipboard will copy all the data in the window and cache.




  1. Navigate to Dx Logging on the ribbon bar -à select stop to close the window.
