Overview

DataXchange uses Expressions to evaluate and process incoming data from the Operator Data Interface Screen. Therefore, the ODI Screen Source needs to be added in the Communication section for each piece of equipment that will receive data from an ODI screen. The appropriate expressions must also be added to process the incoming data.

To add the Source, connect to the DX Service from the DataXchange tab and then select the Equipment in the list. If the Equipment is currently collecting data press the Stop button in the DX Commands section to disable the active communication. Press the Communications button in the ribbon bar in the DX Setup section and add the ODI Screen option For the Communication Type.

The ODI screen uses the Data Listener Variables. There are multiple default expressions that come with DataXchange that just need to be assigned to get up and running with the ODI functionality. An expression needs to be added for the start and end for each Status Type that the ODI screen will be used for.

In the Example below the appropriate expressions have been added for both Planned and Unplanned Downtime. Note that the Planned and Unplanned Downtime Specific End expression were added. The expressions without the Specific End functionality are used for barcode scanners to make the use of barcode scanners easier.

Once the expressions have been setup the ODI Interface must be configured.  The ODI functionality is now ready for use.
